When the silicon content is low (such as 0.7),the ductility of aluminum silicon alloy is good,which is often used as deformation alloy;
When the silicon content is high (such as 7%), the filling property of aluminum silicon alloy melt is good, which is often used as casting alloy.
In Al-Si alloy with silicon content exceeding Al-Si eutectic point (silicon content is 12.6%),when the particle content of silicon is as high as 14.5% ~ 25%,adding a certain amount of Ni, Cu, Mg and other elements can improve its comprehensive mechanical properties.They can be used in automobile engines instead of cast iron cylinders to significantly reduce weight.The aluminum silicon alloy used as a cylinder can be electrochemically treated to etch the surface aluminum, while the primary siliceous spots embedded in the matrix are retained on the inner wall of the cylinder, and its scratch resistance and wear resistance are significantly improved. The alloy containing 11% ~ 13% silicon has become one of the best piston materials because of its light weight, low expansion coefficient and high corrosion resistance.
